Darren Aronofsky is back behind the camera to put another character through the psychological wringer, in the first trailer - and new posters too - for his upcoming horror-thriller mother!.

Paramount Pictures debuted the trailer bright and early this morning, so check it out:

I'm a big fan of Aronofsky's work, with his psychological-thriller Black Swan probably my favourite from his small - but impressive - backlog of work. mother! certainly looks like it's channelling that inner-Black Swan and Aronofsky offers up a lot of very creepy, unnerving imagery in this trailer. What I love, though, is that it barely reveals anything. All we know is that shit is going down in Jennifer Lawrence's home, and that's all we need to know. From the looks of it, this is going to be another very fascinating - and hopefully haunting - horror-thriller from one of the most promising talents out there.

Here's the film's synopsis - brief but enough:
A couple's relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence. From filmmaker Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream), mother! stars Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer in this riveting psychological thriller about love, devotion and sacrifice.
With Darren Aronofsky at the helm, and starring Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Harris, and Domhnall Gleeson, mother! will open in cinemas on September 15th, 2017. The film will premiere at the Venice and Toronto film festivals this month.

And here are the 3 stunning posters for the film below, the first two which have a very artsy feel to them and the main one-sheet of Lawrence is chilling:
