The Comic-Con mayhem continues and, hot on the heels of new trailers for Justice League and Ready Player One, San Diego and its many panels also bring us our first look at this Fall's Second Season of the acclaimed Riverdale.

Check out the Riverdale Season 2 sneak peek below, which was unveiled during the show's Comic-con panel earlier today:

I, personally, loved the first season of Riverdale. It had a fun YA/coming-of-age vibe about it but with an extra level of grit and mystery thrown in there; the season did a good job of creating a genuine sense of ambiguity around its central topic - the murder of Jason Blossom - as well as carving out a very interesting, likable bunch of lead characters.

I'm certainly intrigued to see where the story goes, following the massive season 1 cliffhanger. Whilst this sneak peek is light on details, and fairly short, it seems as though the mysteries in Riverdale are going to be continuing. But it also looks like things are about to take an even darker turn than before for the citizens of the titular town and for our lead characters. This was one thing the cast and crew kept coming back to at the SDCC panel, just how dark this season was going to get.

A fun little blooper reel from season 1 was also shown during the Comic-con panel so I've added that below too, it's pretty funny:

Riverdale Season 2 will begin airing on October 13th, 2017 and will have 22 episodes, one airing every week. Lili Reinhart, KJ Apa, Camila Mendes, Madelaine Petsch, and Cole Sprouse will be returning, amongst others.
