With Guardians Vol. 2 only a month or so away now, marketing for Marvel's second (of three!) 2017 releases, Spider-Man: Homecoming, has been light thus far. However, with its Summer release quickly dawning, the time for our web-slinger to take the spotlight is here. And the brand new trailer and posters for the film have arrived to prove it.

Sony Pictures have debuted the trailer, which gives us a much better idea of what to expect come Summer. Check it out below:

We were first introduced to Tom Holland's scene-stealing version of the iconic hero in last year's Civil War. However, in a few months time, he'll step into the spotlight for his own solo outing and everything we've seen so far looks promising. With director Jon Watts promising a high-school centric/coming-of-age film with Homecoming, it looks set to stay true to the comic book source material for the character and stand out from the many other Spidey films we've seen.

I love the action and the heart and, most of all, the fun style and tone to this film. However, as we see from the trailer, there's a lot of emotion here too. I like that this film will focus on Peter Parker dealing with adolescence and school and being a regular teenager as much as a superhero. We get to see plenty of that here, as well as some great footage with Michael Keaton's Vulture and Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark too - even a couple of cool shots of him suited as Iron Man too. Everything about this screams awesome and I cannot wait to see how Marvel handle a solo Spidey film - it could be the best one yet. Although, so far, so good.

Here's the official synopsis:
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming.  Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
