2017 has been a promising cinematic year so far and looks to continue strong in the coming months too. However, no release has me quite as interested, scared, curious and excited than the forthcoming IT. And the first trailer and poster have arrived.

Warner Bros. Pictures debuted the trailer earlier this afternoon so check it out below:

This re-adaptation of Stephen King's hit horror novel has been one of my most anticipated films of the year for quite some time now and I love everything about this first look teaser. Of course, the novel is famous for just how terrifying it is and for its infamous character of Pennywise The Clown. Thankfully, the film looks set to deliver one of the scariest films of the year and a terrifying portrayal of Pennywise in Bill Skarsgård's antagonist.

Here's the film's official synopsis:
When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.
With Andrés Muschietti at the helm, and starring Bill SkarsgårdJaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer and Nicholas Hamilton, IT will conjure up a scare in cinemas on September 8th, 2017.

And here's the haunting teaser poster for the film too:
