You can currently catch Dwayne Johnson in Disney's stunning Moana (which I saw tonight and will review ASAP) but, if you still can't get enough of him at the moment, he's front and centre of the teaser trailer for next Summer's Baywatch.

The hit 1990's TV show has been given the Hollywood treatment and is being rebooted (as is everything nowadays though really) for the big-screen. Paramount Pictures have unveiled the teaser trailer for the film, but is it the new Jump Street? Check it out below and find out:

As the teaser trailer shows, it certainly seems as though next Summer's Baywatch is taking a page out of 21 Jump Street's book - another old, forgotten TV show that got a fresh cinematic reboot a couple of years back, to very successful results - and going for an 'edgier, more hard humored' reboot. The comedy in this reveal certainly feels very Jump Street-esque. However, I'm not too sure what I make of the comedy in this teaser because a lot of the jokes don't land for me. I'm a big fan of the talent onboard and I think the action and visuals look pretty good but it'll be interesting just to see how the jokes and humour actually pay off (if at all) when this opens.

Here's the film's official synopsis:
BAYWATCH follows devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchannon (Johnson) as he butts heads with a brash new recruit (Efron). Together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay.
With Seth Gordon at the helm, and starring Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Ilfenesh Hadera, and Priyanka Chopra, Baywatch is set to open on May 12th, 2017.
