Ben Affleck has been a busy man recently. Earlier this year, he suit up as Batman in Batman v Superman, he's set to star in dramatic thriller The Accountant this Fall and his next directed feature, Live By Night, is set to release early next year, and the first trailer and poster for it has arrived.

4 years since his last foray into directing, with the Academy-Award winning Argo, and Affleck is back at the helm for Live By Night, based off of a script he wrote himself, based on the novel of the same name by Dennis Lehane. Warner Bros. have debuted the teaser for the film and it's incredible. Check it out below:
I'm a big fan of Affleck as an actor, but more so than that, I'm an even bigger fan of Affleck as a writer and director. Every single film he has directed thus far has been nothing short of exceptional and Live By Night doesn't look any different. The teaser is great; I love the dark, gritty tone of the film and the stylish 1920's aesthetic. The film also has an Awards conscientious release date too and I think this may be turning head come Oscars time.

Here's the film's synopsis:
“Live by Night” is set in the roaring `20s when Prohibition hasn’t stopped the flow of booze in an underground network of gangster-run speakeasies. The opportunity to gain power and money is there for any man with enough ambition and nerve and Joe Coughlin, the son of the Boston Police Superintendent, long ago turned his back on his strict upbringing for the spoils of being an outlaw. But even among criminals there are rules and Joe breaks a big one: crossing a powerful mob boss by stealing his money and his moll. The fiery affair ends in tragedy, setting Joe on a path of revenge, ambition, romance and betrayal that propels him out of Boston and up the ladder of Tampa’s steamy rum-running underworld.
With Ben Affleck at the helm and in the lead role, also starring Elle Fanning, Sienna Miller, Zoe Saldana, Scott Eastwood, Brendan Gleeson and Chris Cooper, Live By Night is set to open in the U.S in limited release later this year, before opening everywhere else on January 13th, 2017.
