With this year's rather disappointing Summer movie season now coming to a close, all eyes are on the next few months to deliver where the past few months couldn't, most in particularly with Star Wars: Rogue One. Well, the second trailer for the spin-off film has finally arrived.

A couple of weeks back, Star Wars Celebration took place in London and it was expected that we'd see a new trailer for this year's forthcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. However, when we didn't, and we got a featurette and poster instead (albeit, they were awesome), a lot of fans were disappointed. But, Lucas Film have debuted the brand-new trailer for the film during the Olympics and it has made its way online. The wait is over. Check it out below:
It's no surprise that I cannot wait for Rogue One, but I'm more excited than ever now. This trailer is brilliant. Not only does it look and feel like a Star Wars film, but it also feels as though it stands apart from the main franchise. I love the dark, grittier, War-like style and tone to it - the action sequences all look so incredible and visceral! The reveal is packed with tons of new footage and introduces us to a lot more of the rebel team this time around, that'll be joining Felecity Jones' Jyn Erso, the likes of Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen and Alan Tudyk as the security droid K-2SO.

Whilst the general public didn't get a Rogue One trailer at Celebration, one was shown as a Celebration exclusive. Whilst reports indicate it was similar to the teaser from a few months back (so the one above is entirely new), one noticeable shot was at the very end, which confirmed the return of a familiar face we already knew we'd be seeing: Darth Vader. Stick around til the end of this trailer and you'll see a very recognisable mask and hear a very familiar sound: Vader in all his glory. How big his role in Rogue One will be or what part he plays in the story all remains to be seen but James Earl Jones is returning to voice the iconic villain and there's just something about seeing him in this all-out, Star Wars War film that has me so excited!

With Gareth Edwards at the helm, and starring Felicity Jones, Riz Ahmed, Forest Whitaker, Ben Mendelsohn, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Diego Luna and Mads Mikkelsen, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits U.K cinemas on December 14th, 2016, before arriving overseas on the 16th.

Here's the film's official synopsis:
From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.
