This year's Comic-Con is underway, and today was a big day in Hall H, bringing lots of exciting and hugely anticipated films to San Diego. Plenty was shown at the Warner Bros. panel, including a special Kong: Skull Island teaser, which has now arrived online in all its gigantic glory.

Back in 2014, Legendary announced their pans to make a King Kong prequel story, titled Skull Island, at Comic-Con, in Hall H. Two years later and the studio have returned, having complete the film. Today was a big day at Comic-Con for Warner Bros; a lot of focus was on their forthcoming DC slate and they revealed trailers for Wonder Woman and Justice League, and animated spin-off The LEGO Batman Movie, and Fantastic Beasts. However, the cast and crew of Kong: Skull Island were also in attendance and came equipped with the first trailer for the film, which has now arrived online. Check it out below:

Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts has previously mentioned that Kong: Skull Island will feature the largest version of the monstrous ape King Kong that we've ever seen put to the big screen: "This is going to be the biggest Kong there's ever been. Not 10 foot or 30 foot, but a 100-foot-ape." From what we see in the above trailer, he wasn't kidding... I've been very intrigued by the idea of this film, and it looks great. The scale and scope of this film look huge, and it has a stellar cast and director all currently on the top of their game. Oh, and, visually speaking, from cinematography to CG, Skull Island looks absolutely gorgeous; the colour palette reminded me of Mad Max: Fury Road. I'm a big fan of monster movies and I'm very much looking forward to this.

Accompanying the reveal, Warner Bros. and Legendary revealed a Comic-Con teaser poster for the film the other day and it's great. The poster is very simplistic, again teasing the titular beast and its sheer size (something the trailer did very well, slowly building up to it with little hints in a Godzilla-esque manner) but it's also just stylish and visually pretty cool. I've embedded it towrds the bottom of this article.

Here's the film's official synopsis:
When a scientific expedition to an uncharted island awakens titanic forces of nature, a mission of discovery becomes an explosive war between monster and man. Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, John Goodman and John C. Reilly star in a thrilling and original new adventure that reveals the untold story of how Kong became King.
With Jordan Vogt-Roberts at the helm, and starring Tom Hiddleton, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, John C. Reilly, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell and John Goodman, Kong: Skull Island will make its way into cinemas on March 10th, 2017.

Take a look at the poster below, as promised:
