It's been a couple of weeks since Batman v Superman has released, and whilst it was met with a very mixed reception, there have been a lot of worries regarding the future of the DC Cinematic Universe. However, as the new trailer for the DCU's next film, Suicide Squad, proves, it seems as though we can expect great things from their next film.

Personally, I wasn't a big fan of Batman v Superman and it was, frankly, a bit of a convoluted mess. Although, ever since the film was announced, Suicide Squad has been one of my most anticipated films of this year - with an incredible cast, some incredible characters and just the whole idea of a film dedicated solely to bad guys. The film is set to follow Viola Davis' Amanda Waller as she recruits a team of some of the most dangerous people on Earth, to try and get them to use their abilities for good. Of course, they're bad guys so that's going to present some problems.

During the 2016 MTV Movie Awards last night, Warner Bros. debuted a brand-new trailer for David Ayer's forthcoming superhero blockbuster and it is a truly AMAZING! The reveal plays off fairly similarly to the last trailer, in setting up the premise and introducing our characters but there's plenty of great new footage on offer here. We get to see more of Jared Leto's version of The Joker and Margot Robbie's portrayal of the fan-favourite Harley Quinn here, with the latter stealing the trailer (probably even the movie too). There's also lots more footage of Ben Affleck's Batman because, despite whatever people thought of Dawn of Justice, everyone loved the Batfleck.
Re-shoots for the film are currently taking place in L.A and, whilst rumours suggested it was to add more jokes and make the film 'lighter', I doubt that's true because, as this new trailer proves, there are plenty of jokes already and I don't think they could have made a plan, assembled the required units, filmed new scenes, edited them and stuck them in this trailer within the space of a couple of weeks. Nonetheless, Suicide Squad looks chaotic and just TONS of fun; actor Jai Courtney praised Ayer's 'psychotic' style and we can certainly see that from this trailer.

With Fury's David Ayer at the helm and starring Will Smith (Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Jared Leto (The Joker) and Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Suicide Squad will open on August 4th, 2016.
