Last night was Super Bowl Sunday and saw the Broncos and the Panthers go head to head for the 50th Super Bowl. Of course, as is tradition, we also received a whole slew of new Super Bowl spots and trailers, one of which was the first, full-length trailer for the forthcoming The Jungle Book.

During the Big Game, Disney revealed a brand-new, full-length trailer for Jon Favreau's forthcoming live-action adaption and it is absolutely stunning! The Jungle Book is one of my all-time favourite Disney animations and I cannot wait for this film. For starters, this film LOOKS visually gorgeous in every way possible - it's worth taking into account that everything you're looking at was shot on a sound studio and is the work of some breathtaking CG.

This latest reveal also give us our first listen to some of the character's voices - from Ben Kinglsey as Bagheera to Bill Murray, Idris Elba and even Christopher Walken - and all the actors fit their characters perfectly. Based on this new trailer, it seems as though Favreau's picture will keep the heart and fun of the animations and, more so, of Rudyard Kipling's classic novels too and The Jungle Book is shaping up to be a very special new film. I mean, just try to watch this trailer and not burst out singing along to Bear Necessities.

Here's the film's official synopsis:
Directed by Jon Favreau (“Chef,” “Iron Man,” “Elf”), based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories and inspired by Disney’s classic animated film, “The Jungle Book” is an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub who’s been raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan (voice of Idris Elba), who bears the scars of Man, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat. Urged to abandon the only home he’s ever known, Mowgli embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery, guided by panther-turned-stern mentor Bagheera (voice of Ben Kingsley), and the free-spirited bear Baloo (voice of Bill Murray). Along the way, Mowgli encounters jungle creatures who don’t exactly have his best interests at heart, including Kaa (voice of Scarlett Johannsson), a python whose seductive voice and gaze hypnotizes the man-cub, and the smooth-talking King Louie (voice of Christopher Walken), who tries to coerce Mowgli into giving up the secret to the elusive and deadly red flower: fire.
With Jon Favreau at the helm and starring Neel Sethi as Mowgli, with the voice talents of Bill Murray as Baloo, Sir Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Idris Elba as Shere Khan, Scarlett Johannsson as Kaa, Christopher Walken as King Louie, Lupita Nyong'o as the mother wolf Raksha and Giancarlo Esposito as alpha male wolf Akela, The Jungle Book opens on April 7th, 2016.
