Just last month, the world was taken by surprise when a trailer for a sci-fi thriller of sorts called 10 Cloverfield Lane came out of nowhere and played alongside screenings of Michael Bay's 13 Hours. Since then, the film has generated a lot of hype and we've began seeing little bits of more footage here and there and, now, a brand-new full trailer for the film has released.
Whilst not directly a sequel to the Matt Reeves directed Cloverfield, we know that 10 Cloverfield Lane will be a "blood-relative", an almost spin-off of sorts to the 2008 cult-classic. J.J Abrams returns to produce this, with Dan Trachtenberg taking the helm, making his directorial debut. The original was great and such a fun, thrilling monster epic and I'm excited to see just how this film compares. The marketing campaign so far has been phenomenal though.
This evening, Paramount and Bad Robot have debuted a short but exciting new trailer for the film and, like the initial teaser, it's incredible! The reveal still doesn't do much in terms of shedding some more light on plot details but we get the basic idea, nonetheless. There is a monster of sorts in the midst of our leading cast and it's going to be a bit of a problem. There's a lot of mystery and ambiguity surrounding these characters and this film and it's great. The trailer is incredibly tense too and I cannot wait to see this film when it releases.
With Dan Trachtenberg at the helm, and starring John Goodman, John Gallagher Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, 10 Cloverfield Lane opens here in the U.K on April 8th, 2016. Not long to go now.
