Last night was Super Bowl Sunday and whilst the Broncos and the Panthers were battling it out on the playing field, Captain America and Iron Man were going head to head in the new Captain America: Civil War Super Bowl spot.

2014's The Winter Soldier is, arguably, one of the best films in the MCU - it's certainly my personal favourite - so, of course, there is going to be lots of excitement surrounding the follow-up to it. Throw in Marvel's iconic Civil War storyline - pitching our First Avenger against Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark - and an impressive ensemble of some of the studio's biggest heroes and the third film in the Captain America franchise is shaping up to be one of Marvel's biggest films yet - sometimes you have to remember this isn't just The Avengers 3 - and I cannot wait to see this.

A brand-new TV spot for the forthcoming film debuted during the Big Game last night and it is awesome. The reveal is fairly short but is packed with lots and lots of exciting, new footage - a scene involving Sebastian Stan's Bucky, Tony Stark and a gun is a highlight. We also get our first, official look at Paul Rudd's Ant-Man in the film, outside of any promo art, as well as our first official look at the lineups for both Team Cap and Team Iron Man, in all its epic glory. There may still be no Spidey (are Marvel pulling a Luke Skywalker in The Force Awakens on us, possibly?) but we also get a new look at Chadwick Boseman's newcomer Black Panther and doesn't he just look so cool?

Choose your side? Are you #TeamCap or #TeamIronMan?

Here's the film's official synopsis:

“Captain America: Civil War” picks up where “Avengers: Age of Ultron” left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.
