Merry Christmas folks! It's that wonderful festive of year again where presents are given and turkeys are eaten and the birth of Jesus is celebrated but, to spice things up for you this Holiday Season, the jolly man in red - no, not that one - has gifted us all a new trailer for his film, Deadpool.
This morning, 20th Century Fox have debuted 2 brand-new trailers for the long-awaited, forthcoming comic book adaption - a violent, swear-y red-band one and a sweet, toned down green-band one - to conclude their 12 Days of Deadpool marketing campaign. Over the past 12 days, we've seen a couple of new posters, a page from the film's script and a trailer tease all culminating with the release of the new, full trailer itself.
Packed with new footage, the new reveal is 3 minutes of Deadpool goodness - or the red-band is, at least. We get a much better look at the reasoning behind Wade Wilson's transformation into our eponymous 'hero', as well as our first proper look at Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead in action too. Of course, as you'd expect, the reveal is relentlessly violent, packed with lots of swearing and utterly hilarious. I loved this trailer and I certainly can't wait to see this film and finally see Deadpool given justice on the big-screen and rid our memories of his haunting incarnation in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and this film looks to do just that.
Here's the film's official synopsis:
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
With Tim Miller at the helm, and starring Ryan Reynolds, T.J Miller, Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano and Ed Skrein, Deadpool is set to hit the UK on February 5th, 2016 before heading to the U.S on February 12th.
