When the teaser trailer for the Bryan Cranston starring Trumbo released a couple of months back (watch it here), it instantly popped up on my radar and became a film I was intrigued to see more from. Well, a brand new trailer (along with an awesome new poster) for the film has arrived.

I adored the first trailer for the film and the whole idea of this film sounds wonderful to me. The infamous Hollywood Blacklisting was a very interesting yet disgusting idea and a horrible and difficult time period for many people in the industry - one of which was renowned screenwriter Dalton Trumbo. However, depth being blacklisted, he decided to continue working and wrote scripts under various fake names, even managing to snag a couple of Oscars at the time too.

This evening, a new trailer for the forthcoming biopic has been debuted and it's incredible. The film looks ultra classy, hugely compelling and just very well made and entertaining. From the brief glimpses we get, the performances look killer too and I'm looking forward to seeing what Bryan Cranston brings to the role and to the character of Trumbo. A new one-sheet poster has also been released, to accompany the trailer and it's pretty stylish and cool. Having preformed at TIFF recently, the film opened to some very positive reviews. It's getting it's UK premiere at the BFI Film Festival in a couple of days too before its general, public release next Spring.

Here's the film's official synopsis:
The successful career of 1940s screenwriter Dalton Trumbo (Bryan Cranston) comes to a crushing end when he and other Hollywood figures are blacklisted for their political beliefs. TRUMBO (directed by Jay Roach) tells the story of his fight against the U.S. government and studio bosses in a war over words and freedom, which entangled everyone in Hollywood from Hedda Hopper (Helen Mirren) and John Wayne to Kirk Douglas and Otto Preminger.

With Jay Roach at the helm, and starring Bryan Cranston, Elle Fanning, John Goodman, Diane Lane, Louis C.K and Helen Mirren, Trumbo is set to release here in the UK early next year, on February 5th.
