2015 is the year of boxing films. Just last month, we saw Jake Gyllenhaal up against the ropes in Southpaw; Miles Teller will be starring in the boxing biopic Bleed For This and Michael B. Jordan will be making a hit in Rocky spin-off Creed, which has received a brand-new trailer.

Just last month, the young actor starred in the disappointingly atrocious - to say the least - Fantastic Four reboot so will be looking for some redemption with the spin-off/sequel Creed. He'll play Adonis Creed, the son of Rocky's rival Apollo Creed, with Sylvester Stallone set to returning to his iconic character Balboa to train the young fighter and get him ready for a shot at the title.

Warner Bros. have released the second trailer for the film and it's incredible. The first trailer, from a few months back, set up the premise for the project nicely and whilst this new reveal does a good job of advancing on that and giving us a bit of a better idea as to what to expect from this picture. Creed looks to be pretty intense and dramatic and will be a nice chance for Jordan to really display his acting talent and to take the baton from Stallone too. It'll also be interesting to see how the film compares the other boxing films releasing this year and the Rocky franchise too, for that matter.

Here's the film's official synopsis:
Adonis Johnson (Jordan) never knew his famous father, world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, who died before he was born. Still, there’s no denying that boxing is in his blood, so Adonis heads to Philadelphia, the site of Apollo Creed’s legendary match with a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa.
Once in the City of Brotherly Love, Adonis tracks Rocky (Stallone) down and asks him to be his trainer. Despite his insistence that he is out of the fight game for good, Rocky sees in Adonis the strength and determination he had known in Apollo—the fierce rival who became his closest friend. Agreeing to take him on, Rocky trains the young fighter, even as the former champ is battling an opponent more deadly than any he faced in the ring.
With Rocky in his corner, it isn’t long before Adonis gets his own shot at the title… but can he develop not only the drive but also the heart of a true fighter, in time to get into the ring?
With Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler at the helm, and starring Sylvester Stallone, Michael B. JordanPhylicia Rashad, Tessa Thomson and Anthony Bellew, Creed opens on November 25th, 2015.
