There's something very poetic and incredible about Shakespeare's plays, that lends them perfectly to the big-screen - bloody, brutal and beautiful. From everything we've seen and heard about the latest telling of the writer's renowned Macbeth, it looks to be another stunner and the latest trailer and posters for the film only emphasises this.

Justin Kurzel directs the latest, forthcoming adaption of the play, with Michael Fassbender in the title role as our eponymous corrupt king and Marion Cotillard as his partner in crime (quire literally), Lady Macbeth. The film received a lot of critical acclaim and buzz when it premiered in Cannes, earlier this year. The cast and crew working on this film is stellar - as is the source material - so it's not hard to be excited for this and I cannot wait to see what it's like for myself next month.

This evening, Studiocanal have debuted a brand new trailer for the project and it's phenomenal. From what we can see, it looks like this is going to be a faithful adaption. The acting looks brilliant and, visually, this film looks breathtaking; the scenery and cinematography is truly astounding. A couple of character posters have also released (one for Macbeth and one for his Lady) and they're dark, gritty and beautiful. Fassbender and Cotillard are so perfectly cast here, in their respective roles, and I'm excited to see what the talented pair bring to such iconic characters. All Hail.

Here's the film's official synopsis:
