Back in 2013, we saw two similar films - both about The White House being attacked - compete against one another for our money; White House Down and Olympus Has Fallen. Of course, it's clear which one came out on top as it gave birth to a sequel. Today, the teaser trailer has arrived for London Has Fallen.

Gerard Butler is back for the ride, as Secret Service man Mike Banning, alongside the also returning Aaron Eckhart as the American president. When the two arrive in London for the funeral of the Prime Minister, alongside other world leaders, they have to save the day yet again when they realise that some terrorists have heard of the gathering and are planning to take out the leaders. Basically, London is going to fall - if the title wasn't clear enough.

This afternoon, Lionsgate have debuted a teaser trailer for the forthcoming sequel. The reveal is only a minute long and doesn't give too much away - thus being the subtly named "teaser" trailer - but, from the shots we do we get a glimpse at, there's action and explosions aplenty. I love the slowed down rendition of London Bridge Has Fallen Down that plays over the trailer too.

Here's the film's official synopsis:
The sequel to the worldwide smash hit “Olympus Has Fallen,” a non-stop, suspenseful action thriller that delivers high-octane excitement through a heightened sense of authenticity. The visceral intensity springs from a timely premise: after the British Prime Minister passes away, his funeral becomes a target of a terrorist organization to destroy some of the world’s most powerful leaders, devastate the British capital, and unleash a terrifying vision of the future. The only hope of stopping it rests on the shoulders of the President of the United States (Aaron Eckhart) and his formidable Secret Service head (Gerard Butler), and an English MI-6 agent (Charlotte Riley) who rightly trusts no one. Morgan Freeman also stars as the Vice President of the United States.
With Babak Najafi at the helm, and starring Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart and Charlotte Riley, London Has Fallen will hit cinemas next January.
