Last year, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper teamed up for the rather disappointing Serena. Well, this year the two are together again, this time reuniting once again with director David O'Russell, for Joy. Well, it has just received a teaser trailer.

The film will not only mark Lawrence and Cooper's fourth time working with another, but it'll be the third time they both work with the acclaimed director too. Back in 2012, the powerhouse trio delivered with the Oscar-winning Silver Linings Playbook, coming back the following year with the Oscar-nominated American Hustle. This year, the group are reuniting for Joy and if their last two outings are anything to go by, we may have yet another award winner on our hands with this film too.

Today, Fox have debuted a short teaser trailer for the project and it's great. The reveal is short, sweet and mysterious. We're introduced to Jennifer Lawrence's titular Joy and get a brief idea of her character. The film follows her as a struggling single mom that rises above the hardship to become a strong, hugely successful businesswoman. The trailer doesn't reveal too much about the premise but it's a charismatic, energetic teaser nonetheless, that does a great job of setting up the tone of the film.

Alongside the teaser, a few first stills have also been released for the picture - via EW. When talking to the publication, O'Russell said, "I wanted to do an epic, unexpected story about the interior life of one woman’s soul, from the ages of 10 to 40." He continued, "It’s my first film that really has the woman as the star. What’s it like to become a boss and the godmother of a family and dynasty, both emotionally and commercially? You go inside that person’s soul, and it’s alternately hilarious, horrifying, and sort of joyous. Relationships are always complex, and nobody gets to success without breaking some of their own bones—and other people’s, too."

Here's the film's official synopsis:

JOY is the wild story of a family across four generations centered on the girl who becomes the woman who founds a business dynasty and becomes a matriarch in her own right. Betrayal, treachery, the loss of innocence and the scars of love, pave the road in this intense emotional and human comedy about becoming a true boss of family and enterprise facing a world of unforgiving commerce. Allies become adversaries and adversaries become allies, both inside and outside the family, as Joy’s inner life and fierce imagination carry her through the storm she faces. Jennifer Lawrence stars, with Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper, Edgar Ramirez, Isabella Rossellini, Diane Ladd, and Virginia Madsen. Like David O. Russell’s previous films, Joy defies genre to tell a story of family, loyalty, and love.
