Today's certainly looking like a big day for trailers. Earlier today, we got the Macbeth teaser and the new Mission Impossible 5 trailer. Well, now, the star-studded thriller Everest gets not one, but two first trailers, along with 2 new posters and a whole handful of stills. And, wow, this film looks amazing!

Based on a true story, the film will follow two groups that attempt to reach the peak of the daunting, monumental Mount Everest. However, they do so in one of the largest, most devastating snowstorms to ever hit. What's atypical about Everest though is that, unlike other films of this type, this one will focus on the journey back down the mountain.

This evening, Universal have debuted two first trailers (one standard trailer and an international one) for the film and they both are, quite literally, breathtaking. The two trailers are fairly similar but there's a lot of different footage in each so it's worth checking them both out. Besides, they're so magnificent that you're going to be wanting to see more anyway.

The towering shots of the infamous mountain to the stunning tracking shots of the beautiful snowy landscape are gorgeous and throw in some harrowing conditions and situations - from avalanches to blizzards - and this film, like Mt. Everest itself, "is a whole other beast." The trailer is intense, thrilling and insane. And this is only two minutes -  imagine just what the actual film itself will be like.

Boasting one of the most impressive casts this year, maybe ever, Everest definitely looks like a film we'll be hearing a lot more about come Awards season next year. It stars Jake Gyllenhaal, who has become one of my favourite actors in recent years, so I was already intrigued for this but, after seeing this intense, magnificent trailer... I cannot wait to see this.

Accompanying the reveal(s), 2 new posters and a whole slew of stills for Everest have also released. The first one-sheet gives us a look at the titular giant itself with the other one showing off the film's lead trio - Gyllenhaal, Brolin and Clarke. The images - whilst not giving away much about the film - also give us a look at the star-studded cast.

Here's the film's official synopsis:

Inspired by the incredible events surrounding an attempt to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain, EVEREST documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind.  Their mettle tested by the harshest elements found on the planet, the climbers will face nearly impossible obstacles as a lifelong obsession becomes a breathtaking struggle for survival.  The epic adventure stars Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes and Jake Gyllenhaal.  They are joined by Martin Henderson, Emily Watson, Michael Kelly and Thomas M. Wright.

With Baltasar Kormakur at the helm, and starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, Emily Watson, Sam Worthington, Kiera Knightley and Robin Wright, Everest opens, here in the UK, on September 25th, 2015, and will hit the U.S a week earlier, on September 18th.
