The Avengers may have taken storm at the box-office this weekend but they're not the only team assembling as, on the other end of the comic-book spectrum, DC have revealed our first look at their Task Force X, all suited and booted. For those not so big on comics, their the ones that make up the Suicide Squad.

For the past few months, Fury director David Ayer has been giving us little teases for the film over on his Twitter page - especially focusing on actor Jared Leto's transformation into the iconic Batman villain The Joker. Just under a month ago, he tweet out a shot of the film's cast together at a table read. We even got our first look at Leto the other week and, now, we have our first, official look at the Suicide Squad cast altogether and in costume.

Check out Ayer's tweet below:
Seen in the image, from left to right, we have:
  • Adam Beach as Slipknot.
  • Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang.
  • Cara Delevingne as Enchantress.
  • Karen Fukuhara (kneeling) as Katana.
  • Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg.
  • Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn.
  • Will Smith as Deadshot.
  • Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc.
  • Jay Hernandez as El Diablo.
I have to say, I'm really digging this image. The tone is dark, moody and it sends chills down your spines. Considering this a group of villains, that's exactly the kind of vibe you want from a still like this. The addition of "Welcome to Belle Reve" is a nice touch too. As far as the Task Force X themselves, I think everyone looks pretty decent. Of course, some stick out more than others.

You know I'm talking about Margot Robbie. She's the best thing about this reveal, I think that one of the aspects of this film that most people are excited to see is her as Harley Quinn and, from what we can see, she looks pretty great. From the makeup to the smile to the hair; it's all perfect. We then have Cara Delevingne looking all sorts of mystical and magical and creepy as Enchantress. Kinnaman and Courtney look decent as Flagg and Boomerang, I wouldn't go as far as saying they look awesome though. Just average.

I'm loving Adewale's Killer Croc. He's the creepiest of them all and looks big, brooding and pretty terrifying. You certainly don't want to be messing with this dude. The same goes for Hernandez's El Diablo, who's just as freaky. Then, we have Will Smith sporting a bald head, a beard and a cool suit as Deadshot. Ayer even went out and followed the above image up by revealing a full look at Smith as Deadshot, wearing his iconic mask. Check it out:
Viola Davis was notably absent from the gathering, as Amanda Waller, as was Common and Ike Barinholtz and Raymond Olubowale as Dr. Strange and King Shark - for whatever reasons - but, more prominently, so was Jared Leto. As it turns out, the image that we saw of Leto as The Joker is, in fact, not how he'll look in the film. Supposedly, the tattoos won't appear in the film and they were just merely present to give him a cool look for the 75th anniversary of the villain. I can bet that Warner Bros. are holding off the debut of his look - sporting the suit and everything - for something big and crazy.

I've said it many times before and I'll say it again, I'm actually really excited for Suicide Squad. It's only one of a whole handful of big superhero adaptions opening next year - including the likes of Batman v Superman, Captain America: Civil War, Deadpool and so many others. However, it's certainly one of the most interesting and audacious. Just the impressive talent behind this film should be enough to gear some excitement, not to mention the pure intrigue of this. I quite liked the still of everyone together, suited up and looking badass. It's still early days but I have my fingers crossed. I'm looking forward to seeing more from Suicide Squad in the coming months.

With Fury's David Ayer at the helm and starring Will Smith (Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Jared Leto (The Joker) and Cara Delevinge (Enchantress), Suicide Squad will open on August 4th, 2016.
