Okay, guys... Now, I'm kind of freaking out here. As I'm sure you're all aware, WonderCon was taking place over the last few days. One of the reveals from the convention included a new sizzle reel for The Flash. Well, it has now found its way online and it is just too awesome!
The cast of the CW show were on hand at the event to talk about the final, forthcoming episodes of The Flash's first season, where they also debuted a short new trailer. The reveal has now been released online, by the CW, and it's one hell of a packed 2 minutes. It all goes by in a flash but if you have a sharp eye then you might get a glimpse of a few intriguing shots.
The core of the trailer seems to be Tom Cavanagh's Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne. We seem him behind bars in the Pipeline. He's also confronted by Grant Gustin's Barry Allen and there's a lot of discussion that seems to revolve around him. On the other end of the Thawne timeline, Eddie is causing trouble as we see him shoot down a couple of cops as well as take on The Flash. Gorilla Grodd's back too. Rumours suggest he'll be the big bad of the next season but he'll certainly be appearing again this season. Just as Wentworth Miller's Captain Cold keeps teaming up with other villains, it looks like The Mist, Rainbow Raider and The Weather Wizard get a similar idea. But wait? Weren't they all locked up in the Pipeline?
They're not the only ones returning though as Stephen Amell is back as Arrow but he'll be also fighting side-by-side with his cousin, Robbie Amell - who plays FIRESTORM. Oh, General Eiling will also be making a return! But wasn't he last seen being dragged away by Grodd? Did they figure something out? Where there's folk returning, we also have some newcomers to the series. We get our first look at Brandon Routh's A.T.O.M joining the ranks, taking flight in his exosuit. It's not all good though as that familiar face in the trailer is The Walking Dead's Emily Kinney, who'll portray Brie Larvan (a.k.a The Bud-Eyed Bandit). She's taking her moniker all the way though, with her attire and dialogue too. Did I also mention that Barry and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) kiss. There's also a scene in which The Flash fights himself.
So, yeah. There's a lot on offer there and that isn't even the tip of the iceberg. It's certainly an interesting little sizzle, teasing just how big the rest of the season if going to be. I'll be honest, I'm loving The Flash so far. It's such a fun show and it only looks like it's going to get better. It definitely has me excited to see how some of the stuff shown plays out. With only a few episodes remaining this season, there's going to be A LOT coming up... that's for sure.
