I have seen the teaser trailer about 50 times by now. However, it seems as though I'll have something else to get excited over instead now as the first clip for the adaption of John Green's Paper Towns has arrived. It's awesome.

The 1-minute long clip was debuted at the MTV Movie Awards last night and it puts the spotlight on an iconic scene from the novel: when Quentin removes the eyebrow of his childhood bully and just general asshole Chuck. Honestly, I'm digging this clip. It has me super excited to see the film. It's so simple yet brilliant and has captured the magic and humour of the scene so perfectly. If this is anything to judge by, we'll have a great, accurate adaption on our hands with this one. I'm also really loving the casting of Q and Margo too. I think that Cara Delevingne and Nat Wolff are the perfect pairing for the roles. The chemistry between the two looks on fire too. I CAN'T WAIT!!!

I'm definitely excited for Paper Towns! It's hard not to fanboy, even a little. It was such a a thrilling, nuanced read and, from what we've seen so far, it seems like they've managed to do a brilliant job of bringing the story to life; staying true to the source material and a lot of fun too - use the clip as a prime example. Green's novels have taught me a lot and have inspired me a lot and I cannot stress enough how passionate I am about Paper Towns and about seeing it done right. I have high expectations but I think that Schreir is the perfect man for the job and I trust that he'll do a good job. I hope he does.

As for other Green adaptions, The Fault in Our Stars - which released last year and was absolutely superb - won big last night and took home a few awards. It won not only Movie Of The Year but Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort also took away Best Kiss. I'm glad to see the film getting the love it deserves because, frankly, it was a good film. Hopefully, this time next year, we'll be able to see the same for Paper Towns, winning big. It's quite easily my most anticipated film of 2015 now.

Here's the film's official synopsis:

Adapted from the bestselling novel by author John Green ("The Fault in Our Stars"), PAPER TOWNS is a coming-of-age story centring on Quentin and his enigmatic neighbour Margo, who loved mysteries so much she became one. After taking him on an all-night adventure through their hometown, Margo suddenly disappears--leaving behind cryptic clues for Quentin to decipher. The search leads Quentin and his quick-witted friends on an exhilarating adventure that is equal parts hilarious and moving. Ultimately, to track down Margo, Quentin must find a deeper understanding of true friendship--and true love.
