Well, no one saw this coming... that's for sure. I think we're all still recovering from the awesomeness that was today's Zoolander awesomeness. Basically, for those of you that live in a box and avoided the Internet, Zoolander 2 was announced... in the weirdest but best way ever, though.

Crashing the Paris Fashion Festival and making an appearance at today's Valentino show, in Paris, for Paris Fashion Week, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson took to the runway as their Zoolander fashion model characters - Derek Zoolander and Hansel, respectively. It turns out that it wasn't for simple nostalgia, though, as it was, in fact, part of a bigger Zoolander 2 announcement scheme. Actually, we'll be seeing the film next year.
Stiller talked about doing the sequel a couple of times in the past and reports broke out that it was to start shooting this Spring, in Rome, with Justin Theroux set to direct, but we never really got any official confirmation of it actually happening... until now.

Paramount have gone and officialy announced the project, as well as the fact that we'll be seeing it in less than a year's time - on February 12th, 2016. With that date not too long away, we can expect to hear more of the follow-up to 2001's hit comedy soon.

For those of you unaware, 2001's Zoolander followed a fashion model that, at the end of his career, is brainwashed into killing the President of Malaysia. With fashion playing a heavy influence on the film, the whole Valentino scenario makes sense.

Christine Taylor and Will Ferrell will be coming back to reprise their roles, as Matilda Jeffries and Mugatu. Of course, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson will also be back as Derek and Hansel and Penelope Cruz is in talks to join the proceedings too. With Justin Theroux directing, Zoolander 2 will hit cinemas on February 12th, 2016.
