The first Insidious film was not only a good horror, but a good film too. We then got Chapter 2 and, as a horror sequel, it did a good job. Well, the first full-length trailer for Insidious: Chapter 3 has arrived and it's terrifying.

Horror aficionado James Wan (best known for The Conjuring) passes the directing reigns onto Leigh Whannell. Though he has penned many horrors prior (including this one), Insidious: Chapter 3 will mark Whannell's directorial debut and, by the looks of it, he has done a pretty good job, coming into this game strong it seems.

This evening, the first full trailer for the film has arrived and it's damn scary. Focus, the studio behind the film, originally released the trailer on Monday but there was a bit of a snafu on their behind but the full, official version has, now, been released and it's awesome. However, my only complaint with it is that it gives away a lot of the jump scares here and I'm worried that there won't be anything left to scare if it has all been shown in the reveal. Hopefully not. Hopefully Focus and Whannell know what they're doing and I think they do.

It definitely gets your blood pumping and teeth chattering. It works well, it's scary and it, certainly, has me hooked - even more so considering Stefanie Scott stars in this project, as the lead, and I'm a HUGE fan of hers. The trailer also comes with a new one-sheet and it's gorgeous. Just look at how terrifying Stefanie looks. It's quite creepy.

Being defined the 'darkest chapter', Insidious: Chapter 3 takes the story back to the beginning uncovering the truth about how The Further was discovered by ghost hunter Elise (Lin Shaye), via a young girl and her father.

With Whannell helming off of his own script, Insidious: Chapter 3 stars Stefanie ScottLin ShayeDermot Mulroney and Angus Sampson. It creeps into cinemas on May 29th, 2015.

Here's the film's official synopsis:
The newest chapter in the horror series is written and directed by franchise co-creator Leigh Whannell. This chilling prequel, set before the haunting of the Lambert family, reveals how gifted psychic Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) reluctantly agrees to use her ability to contact the dead in order to help a teenage girl (Stefanie Scott) who has been targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity.
