Now, here's the thing about Mad Max: Fury Road. The word 'mad' is in the title, as is 'fury'. If there's at least one thing we're expecting from this film, it's chaos and madness and fury. The trailers have all shown that so far, quite nicely too. Well, this evening, the film has received yet another trailer and it's by far the maddest, most furious one yet.
The first trailer for this released back at Comic-con, earlier this year, and a second followed a few months later. Both of them were utterly and ridiculously insane and awesome - very possibly just two of the best trailers I've ever seen for a film. Today, Warner Bros. have debuted a brand new trailer and, like both its prior reveals, it is just a couple of minutes of mass havoc and AWESOMENESS! It's such a f*cking glorious trailer!
From the start to the finish, the outburst of sweet CG effects, the spills to the thrills and just the slew of madness and destruction, make this what is probably the greatest and most insane trailer for the reboot yet. Fury Road looks chaotic, wonderful and just a lot of fun! Accompanying the reveal, a new poster has also crash landed and it's pretty beautiful. 'The Future Belongs To The Mad' captions the one-sheet and, after this reveal... damn right, it does! It's easily one of my most anticipated films of this year. I didn't even know it was possible for me to get more excited for this but, after this new trailer, it happened!
Replacing Mel Gibson - from the original films - as our eponymous lead, Max Rockatanaky, is none other than Tom Hardy. Having starred in Locke, The Drop and even season 2 of Peaky Blinders, 2014 has been a busy year for the actor and things are only going to get busier - he has many, MANY projects currently in the works, with the likes of Child 44, Splinter Cell, Fury Road and lots more on the cards.
With Mad Max 1, 2 and Beyond Thunderdome helmer George Miller returning to the director's chair for this and starring Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Zoë Kravitz, Riley Keough and more, Mad Max: Fury Road will explode into cinemas on May 15th, 2015.
Here's the film's official synopsis:
The post-apocalyptic action film is set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, and most everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life.Within this world of fire and blood exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order… There’s Max (played by TOM HARDY from The Dark Knight Rises), a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos. And… Furiosa (played by CHARLIZE THERON from Prometheus), a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.
