With quite a few months remaining until the film arrives, things are already beginning to gear up, slowly but surely, for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 as, today, it receives a teaser and poster. Prepare for war.

Part 1 of the 2 part finale only released in cinemas 5 months ago. Heck, it only just released, earlier this week, on Blu-Ray/DVD (read my review of that here) and we're still 8 months away from the arrival of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 yet Lionsgate have already released the first poster and a short teaser trailer (of sorts) for the grand finale to The Hunger Games franchise, courtesy of EW.

The teaser will be premiering this weekend, alongside another one of Lionsgate's project, The Divergent Series: Insurgent (read my review of it here). However, the term 'teaser trailer' has to be used here lightly because whilst it is technically a teaser trailer, it doesn't show any new footage from the project. Instead, we have sound bites of the franchise's biggest quotes, from the prior three films, over the original film's iconic logo transitioning into the Catching Fire one, before spreading its wings for Mockingjay Part 1 and, finally, transforming into the new logo, for Mockingjay Part 2.

So, it's basically just a motion poster really. However, it's awesome nonetheless and will send chills down your spine and just fill any fan with glee. The reveal is also accompanied by the teaser poster for the forthcoming picture and it follows the same pattern and design as all the previous The Hunger Games one-sheets. It's interesting to note here, this is the first poster in which the illustrious bird is not inside a ring. Presumably it's to represent how Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss has broken out of her shell and is ready for a rebellion, or something similar.

I'm most definitely digging the new logo and one-sheet for Mockingjay Part 2. As I'm sure you're all aware, if you're a regular to the site, just how MASSIVE a Hunger Games fan I am. I absolutely adored Suzanne Collins original trilogy and all the films, so far, have been just as phenomenal. Let's hope the franchise ends strong with a profound conclusion. I like how Lionsgate have decided to start promotion on the ultimate chapter so early, 8 months before it releases! They're not wasting any time and are going all out on the finale and quite right too. It's going to be great.

Here's the film's official synopsis:
With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.
Francis Lawrence returns to the helm for what is sure to be one of the biggest films of the year. Jennifer LawrenceLiam HemsworthJosh HutchersonDonald SutherlandNatalie Dormer and Julianne Moore are amongst the many returning. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 opens on November 20th, 2015.
