2016 is shaping up to be quite an impressive year for film, especially for the superhero genre. Amongst all of them is Deadpool, one of next year's most anticipated films. Well, an official logo and synopsis have been revealed, as well as our first look at Ryan Reynolds suited up as the hero.

Over the past decade or so, we've seen many superheroes take to the big screen - some known more than others- and it's safe to say that most of these films prove a huge success with fans and with box-office figures. Even risks like this year's Guardians of the Galaxy - who no one had heard of prior to the films release - manage to smash charts.

Deadpool is, arguably, one of the most known, most loved heroes of all time and his feature length solo outing has been WAY overdue. So, of course, when 20th Century Fox finally gave the project the greenlight last year, fans were overjoyed. It was due to their love and response to the test footage and character that made it so. Ryan Reynolds, who plays the cocky, witty mercenary, played him back in 2009's X-Men: Origins Wolverine but will now get the chance he deserves to properly portray him.

Filming has, recently, gotten underway in Vancouver and, last night, the actor took to Twitter to reveal the world's first look at himself, suited up in costume, and it was pretty cool. The best thing has to be just how accurate a recreation of the comic book design the suit is. Everything about it is perfect; fro the red and black to Reynold's pose. It's awesome.

Check out Ryan's tweet below:
Hot off the heels of that, the studio have gone and debuted the logo and synopsis, for the film, too. We got an idea of the logo from the test footage that leaked a while back but this just makes things official. As for the synopsis, there's nothing too major or revealing about it and there's just a little more on what we already knew. A site has also launched for the movie, as has a Twitter accountIt's really happening folks! Deadpool is coming!

Here's the film's official logo:
And the synopsis:
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
I LOVE Deadpool. He's one of my favourite superheroes. I've been wanting a Deadpool spin-off for ages now so am SUPER excited for this. Hopefully, he can get the big screen treatment that he deserves and, hopefully, we can get the one that we deserve too and not like the crap we saw back in 2009 with Origins.

With Tim Miller at the helm, and starring Ryan Reynolds as our foul-mouthed protagonist and titular badass, Deadpool is set to release in cinemas in just under a year, on February 12th, 2016.
