It's Friday the 13th, folks. What better way to embrace the ghoulish and horror nature of today's date than with the first look at Guillermo Del Toro's forthcoming horror, Crimson Peak. It has a first trailer and poster.

I'll say it loud and I'll say it proud: I am not a fan of horror films. I try to avoid them as much as possible. Whilst loads of people love the rush of energy from a scare, I hate it - almost having had died of a heart attack whilst watching The Conjuring. I very rarely want to watch a horror. However, this is one that I'll be lining up for on day one of release, for sure. It looks scary, thrilling and it sees Del Toro returning to his roots, what more can you ask for? It's definitely one to keep an eye out on.

This evening, the first trailer has dropped and it's brilliant. I have never been so terrified and in love with a trailer before. It's awesome!!! It does a real good job of raising your blood pressure and getting your heart pumping, whilst not revealing too much. I'm a huge fan of Del Toro's and am excited to see him return to his roots. Accompanying the trailer, a chilling first poster has also dropped and it's quite stylish. I like the old-fashioned, classic horror theme. It's eye candy, to be frank.

Here's the film's official synopsis:

Legendary Pictures’ CRIMSON PEAK, a co-production with Universal Pictures, is a haunting gothic horror story directed by the master of dark fairy tales, Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy series, Pacific Rim), written by del Toro and Matthew Robbins and starring Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Hunnam. In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds…and remembers. Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, del Toro and Callum Greene produce, and Jillian Share executive produces.

With Guillermo Del Toro directing and starring Charlie Hunnam, Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska, Crimson Peak opens on 16th October, 2015.
