The wait is over! Until recently, we'd hardly seen anything from Marvel's Ant-Man. However, following the arrival of the film's first poster and our first look at Paul Rudd in costume earlier today, our first actual look at footage from the Summer release has landed (unless you were at Comic-con last year).
The teaser trailer premiered, over in the U.S, alongside the 2 hour long premiere of the Marvel's new show - the Hayley Atwell starring Agent Carter - and, now, the studio have released it online in glorious HD for us all in the UK and, well, not the States to enjoy and watch over and over again!
Personally, I've always been excited for this. I know that, ever since Edgar Wrighr departed the project, doubts have spiralled and people have been very skeptical as to what this will be like but I think that Peyton Reed is a great director to take the helm. Also, considering that Guardians of the Galaxy - a concept that very few people had heard of - became one of last year's biggest hits, I know that Marvel can take risky moves and make them work.
Sure, the marketing for this film hasn't entirely been great (an 'ant-sized' trailer teaser, for crying out loud) and I think that Marvel may be paying more attention to the first (and the bigger) of their 2015 releases - The Avengers: Age of Ultron - but this first teaser makes up for it. Full of action and awesomeness, this is a packed and precious 1 minute and 48 seconds that I think will, now, have a lot more people, at least, intrigued, if not excited, for Peyton Reed's Summer release. It's an interesting concept and could make for a very awesome, pleasantly surprising film.
With Peyton Reed now directing and starring Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lily, Judy Greer and more, Ant-Man will arrive on 17th July, 2015. We should have a full trailer breakdown up on the site within the next few days so stay tuned for that.
Here's the film's official synopsis:
The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man.” Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
